Founded in 1889, Home Savings & Loan (HSL), now known as Premier Bank, has always been committed to developing long-standing relationships with local residents and businesses by providing a full range of retail and commercial banking products and services to exceed expectations.

For HSL, managing two separate locations — and processes — created gaps in service, caused differing turn times, and evaluation and quality control suffered.

By engaging CSS to provide an appraiser panel management solution, HSL was able to improve its turn times and provide a consistent, high quality appraisal experience for all of its borrowers.

Custom appraisal solutions for the mortgage lender

To free up resources and focus on new loan origination and business growth, HSL needed to re-evaluate its in-house appraisal management processes. Partnering with Corporate Settlement Solutions (CSS), HSL effectively transitioned from in-house appraisal managers to CSS’s Panel Management Program. This option allowed HSL to continue to use their own network of appraisers, a big priority for the HSL team.

In turn, CSS assumed responsibility for all aspects of appraisal production and tracking, as well as managing the quality, turn-time, and compliance of the appraiser panel and the appraisals they provided. CSS made it easy to track and manage appraiser fees, and HSL was charged a reasonable management fee in addition to the cost of the appraisal.

Working with CSS, anyone at HSL was able to access the software at any time and check the status of an order with real-time reporting. The team also received a month-end report with current and past turn-time results.
