Appraisal Compliance Certification & Guidelines
CSS conducts its business as an appraisal management company in compliance with applicable state and federal law and regulatory guidelines. As a true partner, we strive to provide our lenders with the information they need to remain compliant. Set forth below is an outline detailing CSS’ appraisal management practices. We also provide a Certification and Compliance with each appraisal.
ALTA Best Practices
The American Land Title Association’s (ALTA) Title Insurance and Settlement Company Best Practices (“Best Practices”) are a benchmark for the real estate settlement and mortgage lending industries. They illuminate the high level of professionalism that ALTA members follow to protect consumers and businesses in the real estate and mortgage settlement. CSS has implemented these Best Practices. CSS has performed the assessment procedures enumerated in the ALTA Best Practices Framework and complies with the seven pillars of Best Practices in all material respects.
Circle of Excellence Award
CSS was recently awarded the 2017 Circle of Excellence Award from Fidelity National Title Group. This was our 4th consecutive Circle of Excellence Award from Fidelity, one of the agency’s underwriters. The award is presented to those agents who demonstrate excellence and commitment to the title insurance industry. Accepting the award on behalf of CSS, from left to right: Beccy Clennan, Mt. National Title Professional (NTP) Designation
CSS boasts two members of its staff have attained the exclusive designation of National Title Professional. Debbie Bartlett, EVP Title & Closing Operations and Maura Snabes, VP Sr. Underwriting and Compliance Counsel, attained the NTP certification in 2017. This is the highest level designation given by the American Land Title Association. Debbie and Maura are 2 of only 5 NTP’s in Michigan and less than 90 nationwide! The National Title Professional (NTP) Designation is designed to recognize land title professionals who demonstrate the knowledge, experience, and dedication essential to the safe and efficient transfer of real property.
